Description
Learn neuroaffirming strategies to understand and support behaviour, focusing on strengths, goals, and preferences.
This module explores understanding and responding to behaviour in a neuroaffirming way when supporting neurodivergent participants.
Discover that all behaviour is meaningful, arising from sensory needs, communication differences, or environmental factors.
The module covers gathering participant information, reflecting on responses, and applying practical strategies that focus on strengths, goals, and preferences to create supportive, empowering aquatic experiences.
Autism Swim (AS) provides a range of professional development services for aquatic professionals working with Neurodiverse participants in and around the water. Autism Swim and STA have partnered to offer introductory training modules for those not quite ready to undertake the full training and certification.
