This online programme is aimed at learners attending an STA Award in Aquacise who are required to complete the qualification mandatory unit:

This unit develops learners’ understanding of the aquatic scientific principles and safety requirements for an aquatic environment to allow learners to be able to devise safe and appropriate aquatic exercises.

This programme covers:

• Legislation relevant to an aquacise instructor
• Pool safety operating procedures
• Risk assessment
• Hygiene and safety requirements
• Effects of the aquatic environment upon aquacise
• Aquatic scientific principles

This online programme will take approximately 2 hours. The programme does not expire; however, it is recommended learners revisit the programme as often as necessary to keep knowledge up to date, as well as undergo additional site-specific training to maintain competency.

Assessment Information

There will be a final assessment at the end of the programme to complete with a pass mark of 21 / 28.

A certificate of completion will be available to download following successful completion of this programme.
